Halloween is a celebration where you get to dress up with whatever you want, unless your parents say no to your costume. Halloween is a fan favorite holiday because you get free candy!!! No all kids love Halloween but what is the actual definition of Halloween? Let’s find out. Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31, and Halloween 2023 will occur on Tuesday, October 31. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween became a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats. See some people only care about Halloween because of the free candy but some people want to know the facts about Halloween. Country of the Week

Country of the Week, by Nick S.

Hello, I’m Nicholas and I changed my job from student behaviors to country of The Week. Today’s country is Bulgaria, a country in the Balkans bordering Serbia to the west, Greece to the south, Türkiye to the south, North Macedonia to the west, and lastly Romania to the north.

Now as you notice I didn’t name anything to the east and that is because they have the Black Sea to the east and that really helps their agriculture.

Now lets talk about its flag. The flag is a tricolor meaning its just 3 colors. The top is white, the middle is green, and the bottom is red. The white of the flag is said to stand for peace, love, and freedom, while green emphasizes the agricultural wealth of Bulgaria. Red is for the independence struggle and military courage.

The people of Bulgaria are seemingly fine as they have had little civil war and also they are a part of the European Union. They are seeming very wealthy and they have good healthcare so best of luck to them. They also fought in both world wars, in WW1 on the Central Powers side and in WW2 on the Axis side. They were very unnoticed and had very little impact from the wars too! As you can tell I LOVE countries and the knowledge of them and I hope to continue on this topic for the rest of the school year.
